ECIAAA provides federal and state grant assistance to thirty community programs on aging.  During FY2006, these local programs served 28,215 older persons and 1,440 caregivers in Area 05.

In addition to allocating federal and state grants to local agencies for the provision of services, ECIAAA also provides the following support services to professionals in the field of aging:

● Technical assistance to city planners, community developers, aging network professionals, citizen planners and neighborhood associations in assessing the preparedness of communities for the aging of the population

● Consultation in the development of new and the expansion of existing programs and services for older adults and family caregivers

● Interagency coordination

● Technical assistance in resource development

● Technical assistance in human resource management

● Technical assistance in grants management, budgeting and reporting

● Technical assistance in information systems management
