BENEFITS CHECKUP

BenefitsCheckUp is a Web-based service that can help older Americans, their caregivers and community organizations quickly and easily determine what benefits programs seniors qualify for and how to claim the benefits.  As a result, thousands of older Americans now have access to federal and state program benefits such as: Medicaid, Food Stamps, in-home services and thousands of other programs.  NCOA and its partners anticipate that five million individuals will have used the Web site in the next four years and is mobilizing more than 2,000 community organizations to find and help isolated seniors who could benefit from the service.  A Spanish language version of BenefitsCheckUp, including BenefitsCheckUp, will be available mid year. Visit http://www.benefitscheckup.org/ to find out more.

The National Council on Aging (NCOA) is the nation’s first national, non-profit group of people and organizations dedicated to promoting the dignity, independence, well-being, and contributions of older people.  NCOA has helped develop Meals-on-Wheels, Foster Grandparents and dozens of other innovative programs for older Americans.  To find out more about NCOA, visit their website at:  http://www.ncoa.org/

BenefitsCheckUpRx brings together information on over 240 prescription savings programs covering nearly 800 medications.  Provided through The National Council on Aging, BenefitsCheckUpRx is the first and only Web-based service that offers seniors a personalized report of prescription savings that they otherwise may not have known they were eligible to receive.  BenefitsCheckUpRx is a major expansion to NCOA’s popular BenefitsCheckUp, a web site that helps seniors and their caregivers quickly and easily determine whether they are eligible for benefits programs.
